How you can help:
  • Your time and energy...
could make a real difference to someone's life.

  • How your money can help...
us to keep the shelter open all day over the Christmas period and support our work all year round.

  • A practical gift...
could bring a smile to someone's face this Christmas.

Your time and energy

Our work at Christmas requires 350 volunteers, which is a remarkable contribution in its own right.

During our Christmas project, running for one week from 24th December, could you spare some time to help us?

Volunteers are requested to work at least one four hour shift. The work could include supporting, befriending and entertaining our guests or cooking and cleaning.

We also need volunteers pre/post Christmas and year round to help us with office work, answering calls, sorting donations and cleaning.

How your money can help

Caring at Christmas is funded entirely by donations. We receive no grants from any other body.

Although our peak of activity is at Christmas, our financial needs are spread across the year.

Christmas gifts and donations throughout the year are equally valuable to us - even more valuable if every £1 given is increased by 28p under the Gift Aid Scheme.

Can you can help by making a
donation ? If you are interested in making a regular donation, please contact us and ask for a 'Gifts of Money' form.

A practical gift

We need all sorts of food in the run up to Christmas including Christmas treats such as chocolates and sweets.

The earlier in November or December you can get non-perishable food gifts to us, the better!

Perishable foodstuffs such as turkeys, cakes, fruit and vegetables are also needed nearer to our opening dates.

Please
contact us for details of the types of food we need.

We also need gifts of toiletries, blankets, sheets and pillow cases, towels, new underclothing, hats, scarves, jumpers and overcoats.

We are unable to accept furniture and other sorts of clothing.

The challenge of our task remains as great as ever...
